형제들이여, 내가 여러분에게 전한 복음은 사람들에게서 나온 것이 아니라는 것을 알기 바랍니다. 그것은 내가 사람에게서 얻은 것도 아니고, 사람에게서 배운 것도 아닙니다. 그것은 예수 그리스도께서 내게 보여 주신 것입니다. 여러분은 내가 어떻게 살아왔는가를 들었을 것입니다. 나는 유대교에 속한 사람이었습니다. 나는 하나님의 교회를 몹시 박해했을 뿐 아니라, 아예 없애 버리려고까지 계획했습니다. 나는 나와 나이가 비슷한 다른 유대인들보다 더 열심히 유대교를 믿었습니다. 또한 그 누구보다도 조상들의 전통을 지키는 데 열심이었습니다. 그러나 내가 태어나기 전부터 하나님께서는 나를 따로 세우셔서 은혜로 나를 부르셨습니다. 그래서 나에게 하나님의 아들에 관한 복음을 이방인에게 전하게 하시려고, 하나님께서 그 아들을 내게 보이셨습니다. 하나님께서 나를 부르셨을 때에 나는 어떤 혈육을 통해서도 가르침이나 도움을 받지 않았습니다. 나보다 먼저 사도가 된 사람들을 만나기 위해 예루살렘으로 올라가지도 않았습니다. 오히려 나는 곧바로 아라비아로 갔다가 다마스커스로 되돌아갔습니다. Today's Word

I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ. For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers. But when God, who set me apart from my mother's womb and called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being. I did not go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went into Arabia. Later I returned to Damascus. (Galatians 1:11-17, NIV)

The essence of the gospel is "salvation through Jesus Christ's cross and resurrection."
2. Honestly Acknowledging the Past: Like Paul, we too should be able to honestly acknowledge past mistakes without hiding them. Rather, a dark past becomes a backdrop that more clearly shows how amazing God's grace is. A testimony saying "God rescued me when I was this broken" is more moving than "I was originally a good person."
3. Having Alone Time with God: Like the time Paul spent in Arabia, we also need time for deep communion with God. Put down your smartphone, step away from social media, free yourself from people's opinions, and have time focused only on God's voice. True spiritual growth happens in such quiet times.
